Bellefonte, PA — The Stage at Talleyrand (SAT) Development Committee today announced the official hiring of Hoffman Leakey Architects (HLA) to help with the design and development of the performing arts stage, the largest public, open-air stage in Centre County.
The committee hopes to create a facility that local performers from across Centre County can call home. From choral groups and orchestras to theater troupes and music groups, this facility will welcome creativity at every level. The center will also serve as a space to host performers from outside the region.
“Our development committee is thrilled to partner with HLA on this project. We received interest from many talented firms, and we are confident that HLA will help us bring this project to fruition. We look forward to building something that our community can enjoy for the next century,” said Rick Jacobs, Co-Chair of the Stage at Talleyrand Development Committee.
“HLA is excited to be part of the Bellefonte Community and we feel honored to be selected to lead the design team for the SAT. We look forward to working with both Committee and County residents to realize the vision for a meaningful event venue that adds value to our local community for many years to come,” said J. Michael Leakey, AIA ARB, principal & owner of HLA.
The committee intends to announce a firm fundraising goal now that a design and development partner has been selected. Once architectural renderings are ready, the committee plans to share them with stakeholders and the general public.
Members of the public can make donations to this project via the project website, stageattalleyrand.org. Naming opportunities for larger areas of the center are also available. Donations to this campaign will be facilitated by Downtown Bellefonte Inc. (DBI) and the committee will retain its own treasurer that serves as part of the committee.
